Located at Center of Health
and Society (former 'Kommunehospitalet') in Copenhagen, the Institute of Preventive Medicine is administratively associated with Bispebjerg Hospital.
The Institute of Preventive Medicine is a part of the Copenhagen University Hospital, which is an organisation for collaboration in research and academic pre- and post graduate teaching between the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Copenhagen, the Copenhagen Hospital Corporation, and the Copenhagen County Hospitals.

Project: Prevention of weight gain among normal weight, high risk, preschool children - a randomized, controlled intervention study"
The project aims at primary prevention of obesity among pre-school children who are normalweight, but in high risk of becoming obese. The target group is children born between 2004 and 2007, who either have a high birth weight or a pre-pregnant obese mother or comes from a family with low socioeconomic status. The intervention will consist of dietary counseling, physical activity counseling, cooking classes and behavioral modification.
