Lars Ängquist

Statistician, Ph.D.

PhD in Mathematical Statistics from Lund University (March; 2007); started at IPM 1st of October 2007. Involved in, and contributing to, the following projects:
The NordNet project:
Member of: (i) The obesity group. (ii) The physical activity group. (iii) The coronary heart disease (CHD) group. Ongoing studies directed towards investigating, for instance, body-related variables, human behaviour and disease, and their relations to variables as birth-weight and certain stratification factors.
The DiOGenes project: (Diet, Obesity and Genes) Focusing on the relation between body-weight/weight gain and (i) dietary factors as glycaemic index (GI) and protein content of individual food intake (ii) Genetic information in the form of single SNP:s or combined haplotypes. Also, to some extent, involved in analyses corresponding to the, in some sense similar, NuGenOb project (Nutrition, Genes and Obesity).
The School Health Records: This large database containing quantitative body-related information on school children, going way back to the 1930s, is underlying many studies at our center; more studies will most certainly follow in the future.
